ADDENDUM FOR ITEMS STORED IN EXCESS OF MAXIMUM VALUE

Paragraph 20 of the Self-Service Storage Rental Agreement prohibits the storage of any items whose value exceeds $5,000 without Lessor’s written permission. This addendum modifies this provision to allow Tenant to store items in Tenant’s leased space(s) whose value exceeds $5,000 and provides Lessor’s written permission. The terms “we” and “us” in this document refer to Lessor. The term “you” refers to Tenant.

Items exceeding $5,000 in value, such items and values as further described below, may be stored in Tenant’s space(s) . This addendum only authorizes otherwise approved items to be stored even though their value is over $5,000. 

1. Insurance mandatory. You agree to maintain insurance specifically written to include coverage forthe items stored in our self-storage facility, with full replacement cost coverage against all perils, without exception.

2. Certificate of Insurance. You must provide us at the time of signing this Addendum a copy of acurrent certificate of insurance for the policy (or policies) referenced in paragraph #1.

3. Ongoing coverage. Coverage must be continuous through the time the item(s) is/are stored at theself-storage facility. You must provide us, within 7 days or our request, proof that a policy in accordance with this agreement is in force and effect. You authorize us to contact your insurance agent directly for such documentation, at our discretion.

4.  Lapse in coverage. If at any time the insurance policy described in this addendum lapses for anyreason, this is an automatic default under the Rental Agreement and the consent to store item(s) in excess of maximum value is automatically withdrawn without the necessity of further action or notice from us, and the value of the stored item(s) will automatically be deemed not to exceed $5,000.

5. Other insurance requirements. This addendum does not otherwise waive or affect the insuranceprovisions of paragraph 20 of the Rental Agreement, or any other provisions of the Rental Agreement or any addenda.

6. Lessor not liable. You acknowledge that we provide no insurance for any items or property storedon the premises and are not responsible for loss or damage of any kind regardless of the cause of the loss or damage. As further described in paragraph 20 of the Rental Agreement, Tenant self-insures all contents not covered by Tenant’s insurance.
